Mrs. David Napier passed peacefully away early Tuesday morning, Pebruary 21st, 1933, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. C. Hannah, 76 Fourth avenue. Mrs. Napier had been an inalid for nearly thirty years, but was always cheerful and patient. Mrs. Napier was born in Lammoortown, Lanark County, and was in her seventyâ€"first year. Summerell conducted a short service. Burial was made in South Porcupine cemetery. There was many beautifu floral tokens of sympathy. Mrs. Sauford, of Kirkland Lake, was a visitor to town last week. Mr. Elmer Hawkins, of Huntsville, came up to attend the funeral of his sister, Mrs. R. L. King. Mrs. B. Vardy, of MacDonald‘s Hill, passed away on Thursday morning. Mrs. Vardy has been ill for a number cif months suffering from cancer and complication, and was in her fortieth year. She leaves her husband and six children, the eldest, Mrs. Collier, of town. The funeral was held on Sunday from the Roman Catholic church where Father Gelinas conducted funeral mass. Burial was made in Timmins cemetery. In recent issues The Advance has noted ‘butterflies seen flying around outside in the happy northern winter weather. Last week a butterfly was seen even in cSld old North Bay, so summer must be here or near it when butterflies are becoming so common. A farewell party was held at the home Ofi Mr. and Mrs. Patterson, 34 Hollinâ€" ger Lane, Saturday, February 25th, in honour of Frank Coe and Thomas Culâ€" len, nephews of Mrs. Patterson, who left on Tuesday for their home town, Mayâ€" nooth. The evening was spent in dancâ€" ing, card playing and singing.
