An native of Tottenham, he had spent some years of his life on Manitoulin Island, also in New Lis- keard, where he tended bar in the Grand Union Hotel in the days before prohibition in Ontario. A sufferer from stomach cancer, he became actu- ally ill more than a month ago, and took treatment in the district hospital here. His death, in 'his rooming 'house at 26 Kirkland. was discovered early Satur- day morning when his breakfast was being taken to him.
