Sharpâ€"tailed grouse, commonly known as prairie chickens have been reported as unusually plentiful in the ares between Porquis Junction and Cochrane, especially since the close of the partridge season. Some hunters like these partridge as well as the other kinds, the spruce partridge, birch partâ€" ridge, partridge and pinâ€" nated grouse, or prairie hen. Others, while claiming they are more sport to hunt are not so well pleased with them as birds for eating. Word from Matheâ€" son last week was to the effect that countless number of pinâ€"tailed grouse were noted filying over the town. Some of them perched on buildings and other hopped about in gargens and on lawns, apparently either not being afraid of human beings or else knowing that there was a close season again and that the people of Matheson would obâ€" serve the law. According to the opinion of those who claim knowledge of naâ€" tural history these grouse now fiying south are on aâ€"migration from Hudson‘s Bay to the south.
