His grandmother, he said had lived to be 103 years of age, and his father‘s life had been cut short by an accident at 86. He himself has been working most of the time about the Ayrshire coal pits since he was ten years of age, more than 60 years now, and he expected that he would resume his labours when he returned from his holiday in Canada. He had brought with him, he told the reporter, his fishâ€" ing rod and he hoped to do some angâ€" ling before returning to Scotland, but had learned regretfully there was no salmon fishing in these parts. "After leaving Cobalt, the couple are going on to Porcupine and then to the United States where other relatives reâ€" side: "At nhome the Shields live on historic ground in the part of Ayrshire drenchâ€" ed with the blood of the Covenanters and close by the Cameron Stone.
