B * Roy Hamilton Goes to Florida on Tour Last week "Scotty" Wilson, the Barâ€" ber, who has acted for some time as trainer and manager for Roy Hamilton, received a postcard from Roy who gave the information that he was en route to Florida where he was gning under an engagement to continue his work in the ring. For some weeks previously Roy had been in Kirkland Lake where he had been training for a fight with Arne Johnson at Winnipeg to decide the Bominion featherweight championâ€" ship. The bout had been arranged by The Manitoba Free Press to take place shortly, but evidently there had been some hitch in the proceedings and Roy receiving a good offer to go south to Florida had accepted and was on his way when he sent the word back here. Earlier this year Roy won the featherâ€" weight championship of Ontario and was expected to win the Dominion honâ€" ours for his weight in «he finais at Winnipeg. He lost to Arne Johnson but there was very general feeling that he had lost the decision rather than the fight and this eventually resulted in The Manitoba Free Press arranging for the proposed battle in the course of the next week or two, with Johnson. and Hamilton to fight it out again at Winnipeg, $he winner to take the Doâ€" 1 minion championshin. Roy entered inâ€". to the contest with enthusiasm and. his friends were sure that he would win this time and so bring the Dominâ€" ion championship to Timmins. Roy was training at Kirkland Lake with this in view. He was in firstâ€"class conditizcn and going especially strong when he took the attention of a promoter from Florida. Roy had decided that he could not make the necessary weight in time for the Arne Johnson fight, and also he was troubled by the fact that he could get no satisfactory word from Winnipeg. The offer to go to Florida accordingly came at the right moment and was taken up by Roy who left at once for the South. His wide circle of friends and admirers in this part of the North will wish him the greatest of success in the South and will follow his career with the greatest interest. He is expacted to returrf to Timmins in the course of the next six months. There has been a complaint in some past years that this North Land only two seasonsâ€"summer and winter.
