Sanitary Pads sessed but the man was not very anxiâ€" ous for the deal. He also wanted perâ€" mission to start a bakeshop in certain premises where the chimney was conâ€" demned. He promised that the chimâ€" ney would be properly repuired and water would be installed so permission was granted. The chimney will be later inâ€" spected,. There was another discussion re the water charges for horseâ€"stables that were becoming more and more horseless. These discussions have nearâ€" ly reached the point of a "howsâ€" d‘ceuvre" with the council. The maâ€" jority of the town fathers voted against changing the sidewalk in Schumacher at a point in the business section where It was a menace to cars, A man ownâ€" ing a lot in a very well located portion of Schumacher felt he was assessed too high but the council seemed to think it worth the full amount. The reeve wanted to offer him cheque for it at the value he thought it should be asâ€" it was claimed the water bothered. The game was played on Timâ€" mins grounds and A. Cadman acted as referee. The teams lined up:â€"Kirkâ€" land Lakeâ€"goal, Souter; backs, Chamâ€" bers and Butt; half backs, Simpson, Connell, and Hurst; forwards, Daly, Fernmie, Ramsay, Parsons and Macâ€" Dougall. Domeâ€"goal, Baxter; backs, Blair and McGuire; half backs, Munro, Crawford, Whyte; forwards, Rudkin, Cook, White, T. Blair and Jones, Play centred mostly around Souter‘s doorâ€" step at the start until a play of Cook to White beat him for the first score of the game, when ten minutes were gone. Play was active in both territories, corner plays being very much in eviâ€" dence. A play started by T. Blair and passed from Jones to White tested Souter well but he made a save which was arlauded. Just before the period closed, Parsons neatly placed a corner kick which Fernie turned into a tallyâ€" maker. When play was resumed on _even terms both entered into it with real zest. The wind was with the Dome and they simply sailed in, Rudkin takâ€" ing the lead when he lifted that skin in pretty style from well out on his li1e. A few minutes later he reâ€" peated the same feat. Then Jones brought the leather up from midfield and tossed it over to White who netted as trig a goal as one would want to see. Crawford was the next one, who passed the ball along to White, thus making five counts for the Dome. The gatherâ€" ing darkness and the wind against them made Cifficult going for Kirkland Lake but, as ever, they proved themselves shou)"* tno0u ; 1t was stated that there was not shoulder enough on the Dome road. Also on the Dome road the rock dressâ€" ing had nearly all rolled off into the ditch. It was thought that the oil used was not strong enough to hold this surfacing in place. Of course there nad been some strong kicking done about the tar put on two years ago. It was strong enough to "stick" anywhere and especially in unwanted places. Myrs. J. A.
