The annual meeting of the Porcupine Goldfields Band was held in the counâ€" cil chambers on Tuesday evening and the officers of the past year were reâ€" elected. Bandmaster Bridges had handed in his resignation and by a vote of the band, Mr. Tony Pappone was elected as leader with Mr. A. Suttie as assistant. Mr. R. There were a large number of aprliâ€" cations in for the position of township engineerâ€"a position left open when Mr. J. M. Hendry resigned and accepted a position with Sutcliffe and Neelands.
