G. Luxton and son, Maitland, have been visiting friends sand relatives in North Bay About 1.15 on Sunday murning there was an alarm of fire and in a very short time a large crowd had gatheres> on Third avenue. The fire was at Shankman‘s stable at the rear of the south side of Third avenue near Mountjoy street. Two horses in the stables were rescued though ons of them suffered some burns and may aiso have been injured by the smoke. The fire had a good start before it was disâ€" covered and the cause of the fire, whether from a thrown cigarette stub or spontaneous combuston is not apâ€" parent. Some refuse was stored in barrels in one part of the stable awaitâ€" ing transportation the next day to the incinerator. There was no insurance on the building. At first it looked as if the stable would be destroyed and neighbouring places be alse ecndangerâ€" ed, but the good work of the firemen conquered the fire after about $200.00 damage had been done the building. Fire at Stable Sunday Does Damage of $200.00 The two teams meet again this (Thursday) evening to play a postponâ€" ed game and tho fans can rest assured that toâ€"night‘s game will be even more interesting, as the Moose will have their regular team, and with Moysey‘s bolstered up also, the game should be a wow! Moysey‘s beat the Moose, 18 to 9, and won their first game of softball after three defeats this season in the game last night. Numerous errors marred the game to a certain extent, but the crowd kept up their shouting as usual. Moysey‘s Beat Moose in Wild Scoring Softball Martinâ€"Senour 100 p.c.
