Mickey Watts Training Strenuously Report has it that a man very much interested in amateur sport at Kirkâ€" land Lake is in town at present to look over the lineâ€"up for the boxing exhibiâ€" tion to be put on at the skating rink at Timmins on Friday of this week, May 17th. There is little doubt but that the object is to get a lineâ€"up on Mickey Watts, who gives a 2â€"round exhibition on the 17th, and who fights Dutch Johnson here on June 3rd. The Kirkâ€" land Lake gentleman is not so much interested in the coming fight as he is in the fact that the Kirkland Lake camp is backing "Kid" Williams, a 20â€" yearâ€"old boy of promise of that camp, for the lightweight amateur championâ€" ship of Northern Ontario. No doubt he has seen or heard about the hardâ€" hitting "Dutch" and now wants to get a lineâ€"iuun on Watts to see if the Kirkâ€" a lineâ€"up on Watts to see if the Kirk land Lake boy has a chance again:s one or the other. The situation look promising. Mickey Watts arrived in Timmins short time ago from Pridgend, Wales. Watts has 7 years on Dutch, and got his training during and shortly after the great war. Watts takes a great interest in the novice, and is following his past procedure in the Old Country of teaching the young lads part of his bag of tricks, He has played amateur cricket and rugger in England for the past six years and is wholehearted in his efforts to participate in instructing the juniors in boxing.
