In the police court on Thursday there were three drunks who paid the usual $10 and costs; three were fined for allowing dogs to run at large, and one speeder was fined. Mr. F. The inquest into the death of Mrs. Marina Ziglotte had to be again postâ€" poned owing to the two patients at the hospital, Lorenzo Ziglotte and Anâ€" gelo Artuso, not being able to give evidence, according to the testimony of Dr. MceLaren. The jurors all went in one of Cunâ€" ningham‘s buses out to the scene of the tragedy. It was thought better to visit the location of the accident before the repairs would be made on the road out there. On Saturday evening, July 14th, Rev. E. C. Mr. Clifford Taber MeAllister, reâ€" tivred London ‘banker, is in the Abitibi district of Northwestern Quebec this week, his purpose being to investiâ€" gate the resources and possibilities of the country generally, Rarlier in the week Mr. MeAllister was at Montreal, where he visited Mayor Houde. While in Montreal Mr. MeAllister explained the purpose of his visit to the Abitibi area. One despatch from Montreal quotes him as saying:â€"‘"The occasion of my present visit here is to ascerâ€" tain and examine all the facts that concern Northwesterh Quebece as reâ€" gards mineral, agricultural and fors estry potentialities,""‘ said Mr. Meâ€" Allister. ‘I am returning to Ottawa this afternoon, thence I am going north to investigate the possibilities of developing the Abitibi District, in which I am at present very heavily inâ€" terested. This is the occasion of my visit here."‘ It may be noted here that Mr. Mceâ€" Allister offered some five years or so ago to supply Montreal with 60,â€" 000 tons of Welsh coal, at the time of the strike of the United States anthraâ€" cite mumers Mcintyre Teams Win Second and Fourth Places, O‘Brien Mine Third and Lake Shore Fifth HOLLINGER TEAM WINS WNIGHT FARST AID SHIFLG The result of the George Wright Shield, 1928, First Aid Competition for Mines of Northern Ontario, has been announced. ; The Hollinger team_ winsâ€" first place; Melntyre No. 1 team second; O‘Brien Mine, Cobalt, third; Melnâ€" tyre No. 2 team, fourth; and Lake Sshore Mine, Kirkland Lake, fifth. In the competition the possible points obtainable were 322, and so the following results will be noted as specially good :â€" Firstâ€"The Hollinger, with 276 points obtained. Secondâ€"Melntyre No. 1 team, 242% points obtained. Thirdâ€"O‘Brien Mine, Cobalt, 241 points. Fourthâ€"Melntyre No. 2 team, 231 points. Fifthâ€"Lake Shore Mine, Kirkland Lake, 225 points. The winning team, the Hollinger, included :â€"â€" T. H. Richards, {Capt.), (Geo. A. Gibson, W. Hogg and Fred Jackson. These are all members of the Timmins Division of the St. John Ambulance Brigade. The winning of the Geo. Wright shield for First Aid is considered a high honour and emblematic of the highest efficieney in first aid work. Accordingly the Hollinger team, winnâ€" ing as they did by a noteworthy marâ€" gin over their nearest qgompetitor, deserve congratulation and commendâ€" ation alike.
