New Board of Directors Elected Financial Arrangements Made. Extended Operations Looked For. intensive ment of Ed ward eneineer To say that the official decision to close the property down came as a surprise is to put it mildly despite the fact that the ticker tape for someâ€" time previous had told a tale which was disquieting to those who eared to read. The fact, however, that within a couple of weeks of the announceâ€" ment of the decision which brought consternation to shareholders, official denial had been given to rumours of just such an eventuality, disarmed shareholders and made. the surprise all the more complete. THE PORCUPINE ADVANCE, TIMMINS, ONTARIO ings. Several promising ore strucâ€" tures have beén opened up and some diamond drilling done which proved the existence of other ore structures in addition to those already known. The Three Nations shaft is down 254 feet and 3,000 feet of workings. A small tonnage on commercial ore was opened on the 100 and 200 foot levels. _A diamond drill campaign discovered a new orebody in gray carbonite schist. There is a good mining plant on the property. The fact, however, th; a counle of weeks of the a is foreshadowed at which plans for the future doubtless will be divulged. Argonaut has other property and it may be decided to try again. There is one thing which ought to be said in favour of the management and that is that they did not quit until the outâ€" look became absolutely hopeless. history from a market standpoint. The official notice was preceded by a few days of unexplained weakness and was followed by an avalanche of selling in which the market value of the shares was reduced to 35 cents. At time of writing the ‘shares comâ€" mand a marl\vt price between 6, and 7 cents. A young man of 22 years of age, gciving his home as Timmins, was charged in Cobalt police court reâ€" centl\ with being a vagrant. He told the court he had nu money, no friends and no work. The court imâ€" posed the minimum fine of $1.00 or 30 days. A spectator in the court room generously contributed the dolâ€" lar and said he thougbï¬ he could get the voung man work. The Haileyburian last week says: ‘‘Mr. D. Clutchey went to Tunmins on Monday and will be employed by the Canada Northern Power Corporaâ€" tion there. He will be joined later by Mrs. Clutchey and the family." MEETING OF ARGONAUT LIKELY TO BE CALLED SOON, It is understood that a meeting of Argonaut Consolidated is to be ealled at an early date to decide on the line of action to be taken. In disecussing the matter, Gibson‘s Fortnightly Reâ€" view in its last issue says :â€" The sudden cessation of developâ€" ment at the Argonaut Consolidated property coupled with official word that further mining of the property was to be abandoned, is now ancient history from a market standpoint. Information comes from â€" Cobalt that a new company with a capital of half a million dollars has been formâ€" ed by Cyril Kanight, chief geologist at the Nipissing Mines for some years, the purpose of the new company beâ€" ing to prospect for minerals in this North Land. Mr. Knight and his asâ€" sociates intend the new company to be primarily a prospecting company, the object being to search for mineral deposits, rather thant to be in the market for the purpose of mining claims. The new company is known as the Cyril Knight Prospecting Comâ€" pany and with deadquarters to be established in Toronto. The comâ€" pany, while enjoying close relations through interlocking directorate with the West Canada Airways, Ltd., will not ‘be allied to or will not be a subâ€" sidiary of that company. _ The conâ€" cern will operate entirely on its own account. Mr. Knight will be the president and manager of the new company, and because of his wide experience and expert knowledge of mining matters in this country there will be general confidence in the new company. It is understood that Mr. Knight has resigned from the Nipisâ€" sing Co. staff to devote all his time and talents to the new company. The idea that the Nipissing Co. has an interest in the prospecting company is accordingly denied, the venture beâ€" ing said to be confined to Mr. Knight and his associates. ELEISCHMANN‘S NA ThrFood fortteatth lndigestion? *‘Besides being a cartoonist, I also go in for baschall. In the spring of 1926, while training for the baseball season, I suffered from constipation, and this considerably interfered with my activities. One day I happened to be talking with a friend of mint who had been eating Fleischmann‘s Yreast for three months, and he urged me to try it for my complaint. The results were astonishâ€" ing. The pep and vitality that Fleischâ€" mann‘s Yeast put into me were mort than I ever anticipated, and I think I may truthâ€" fully say that the 1926 bascball season was the best of my career. Many thanks to Fleischmann‘s Y cast. . Branp, Vancouver, B. C. The New Liskearnd Speaker last week says:â€"‘‘Mrs. Cyrus Hurd, who has spent the winter in Timmins, has returned to town again. Heat not only weakens the fabric, but also softens the rubber causing blowouts and tire failures. The exclusive Firestone Gumâ€"Dipping process prevents internal heat. Every fibre of every cord is insulated and impregnated with rubber, which prevents internal friction and at the same time binds the cords together by a stronger union of rubber, thus giving greater strength and flexibility to the tire. Take advantage Of the Gumâ€"Dipping process to lower your tire costs this year. â€" Your local Firestone Dealer not only supplies you with these better tires that cost no more, but also gives the better service that enables you to benefit from every extra mile built in at the factory.
