This company is doing 5,000 feet of drilling on its property in Porcupine. The first hole was driven for 215 feet, striking the vein at 155 and leavyâ€" ing it at 207 feet for an incline width of 52 feet or a horizontal widthi of from 40 to 42 feet. Assays made by Milton Hersey Company, Limited have the following gold values:â€"from footage 185 to 190 $8.80 in gold; from footage 190 to 195, $57.80 in gold ; from footage 195 to 200, $32.00 in gold on a recovery of 75 per cent. of core. The recovery of core in the country rock was high, but dropped slightly when the vein was encountered, this being due to softer drilling, fracturing and the consequent grinding of the core. lIn reference to this, E. A. O‘Callaghan, late of the Hollinger Mine, engmeer in charge, says in part :â€"â€" ‘"‘The assay sheets show very little further need be said about the gold values, although concentration may have occurred in the sludge. However, by ~distributing the values> over ~the whole width of the vein they show roughly a value of $10.00 per ton for an incline width of 52 feet or a horiâ€" zontal width of from 40 to 42 feet."‘ These first results are most encouxâ€" aging and the confidence placed in the property by the directors of the .com.‘pany ~and the original ownars, D‘Arey D. Bogug, Jack Simard, Omex Cote and Joe Young is ‘being confirmâ€" ed by actual results. Diamond drilling is proving greater widths and values at depth. The vein outcropping which is traced, trenched and sampled over a distance of 2,000 feet in length with width of 12 to 18 feet on surface is widening out, and if further drilling continues to prove the continuation of widths and values obtained from the assays of this first hole there is no doubt but that this property will prove to be one of the ‘big mines of Poreupine. 2022202 na 2e 2220 ns nad 0. .2,,9,,9,,9, 2282202002202 20 0 2eaa®, PWPWAÂ¥ %3 0030300000000303030303030ooooonoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooouoooooooouoooooooooooooooooutooooooooooVooooooooooo nolacin ce clncia «ie lectos, t k â€" ‘t _®. Miller, of Toronto, The Advance quoted another famous oddiâ€" ty in the line of wills made. Here is still another from the last issue of The Kirkland Lake Northern News last week :â€" Recently a wellâ€"known man passed on to his reward. As he was known as a man of considerable wealth, the reading of his will was looked forâ€" wardâ€"to with much interest. â€" Imagine the surprised look on the faces of those who expected to be well rememâ€" bered when the following was read : To my wife I leave her lover, and the knowledge that I was not such a fool as she thought I was. ‘*To my son I leave the opportunity of earning his own living. For the past thirty years he has thought the pleasure was all mine. PA L T PE To my valet I leave my fuxr coat whlch he wore when I was at Palm Beach last winter. my daughter I leave $70,000.
