July 1516 Jules Verne‘s mighty Melodrama The first drowning fatality of the season occurred Thursday afternoon of last week at Nellie Lake. The victim was Levi Tremblay, aged 22, one of the owners of the Northern Amusement â€" Company‘s â€" merryâ€"goâ€" round which has been operating there for the past week for the amusement of Summer visitors from Cochrane and Iroquois Falls. At the time of the accident, Tremblay was out on a raft, with his brother, Ivan Tremblay. The latter dived from the raft and the flimsy eraft upset. The viectim, who was unable to swim, sank in about 20 feet of water. Cries of his brother brought bathers from the lower end of the lake, but they arrived too late to effect a rescue. An injury into the cireumstances of the accident awwas made by Coroner W. G. Grummett, of Ansonville ,who decided an inquest was â€" unnecessary. Tremblay â€" came from Metane, Quebec. He is survivâ€" ed by his mother and two ‘brothers. The funeral took place on Friday, interment being made at â€"Iroquoris Falls.
