The programme for the convention at the Falls on Feb. 3rd, will start with a business session at 9.30 a.m. in Columbus hall, after the delegates are duly weleomed by the Mayor of Iroquois Falls, Mr. F. K. Ebbitt. At 2 p.m. there will be another business session. At 5.15 p.m. it is intended 2 p.m. there will be an session. PLEASANT BIRTHDAY PARTY MCNDAY NIGHT All members of the Royal Antediâ€" luvian Order of Buffaloes resident in Timmins and district, are particularâ€" ly rvq\wwt(»d to attend a meeting on Sunday, Jan. 23rd. This meeting is being held for the purpose of forming a Buffalo Lodge in Timmins, if posâ€" sithle. Some time has elapsed since the last notice concerning the forming of the lodge for the R.A.0.B. This however, has been unavoidable owing to the ne(.ebb.n'y correspondence from the P.G.S., at headquarters. Seeing that everything is now in order, all members and intending members of. the R.A.O.B. are respectfully requestâ€" ed to attend the meeting on Sunday. Arrangements have been made to ocâ€" cupy the Moose Lodge rooms, baseâ€" ment of the St. Charles Hotel, corner Cedar and Second avenue, at 3 p.m. prompt, Sunday, January 23rd. In the evening, commencing at 7 p.m. there is to be a banquet tendered to the visitors by the Iroquois Falls Fire Briâ€" gade. This will be one of the big features of the convention, as the fine hospitality of the Iroquois Falls people is well known. Fire Chief T. H. Wilkes, of the Iroquois Falls Fire Brigade, will be the toastmaster at the banquet, and there will be the usuâ€" al interesting addresses. Fr. | Murray. The musical programme | was a delightful one indeed, and mueh appreciated and enjoyed, the selecâ€" tions by the visiting musicians being \wiven with the greatest talent and | effectiveness. All were thoroughly | pleased wih the excellent music furâ€" nished by this very gifted orchestra. The special 1vnturo of the evening, however, was thée address of Rev. Fr. Murray. ~This address had everything to hold and grip the attentionâ€"wit, humour, philosophy, interest and inâ€" formation. Rev. Fr. Murray gave a most entertaining sketch of his life He who walks through life with an even temper and a gentle patience, patient with himself, patient with others, patient with diffieulties and crossesâ€"he has an everyâ€"day greatâ€" ness beyound that which is won in battle or chanted in cathedrals. The.annual meeting of the Timmins Football Club will be held in the town hall on Saturday evening of this week at 7.30 p.m. sharp. The fortnightly social of the St. Matthew‘s Social Club was held last Tuesday evening with a@ large attendâ€" ance of members. A very attractive programme was arranged by the exeâ€" cutive. ‘(During the evening Mrs. Cretney pleased all with a solo that was well given andâ€" well received. Mr. Forrester was in charge of the cames and with his usual happy manâ€" mer kept the proceedings full of pep. The balloon race was a feature that created much fun, and went over big. Mr. Higginson was in charge of the da»ncing and his programme included some of the oldâ€"time dances which were specially enjoyed. Miss S. Moses supplied good musice for the dancing. A very enjoyable lunch was served by Mrs. Webb, Mrs. Cretney and Mrs. Fairbrother. The president, Mr. Forrester, announced that the next social would be held on February Ist at 8 p.m. sharp, and that the enâ€" tertainment committee had someâ€" thing new and that every member should do his or her ‘best to be presâ€" ent and to advise those not present for the evening under way. The enâ€" tertainment committee will meet at the home of Mrs. Cretney on Wednesâ€" day evening, Jan. 26th, at 2.30 p.m. to complete the programme for Febh. 1st. LARGE ATTENDANCE AT ST. MATTHEW‘S SOCIAL CLUB from the time he was fourteen years of age and went to Rome from Ireland to study.. He desceribed the city of Rome as it appeared to him then and it seemed later. He told of his audiâ€" ences with His Holiness the Pope, the churches, the relies, the shrimes and many other matters, to all of which he gave a double interest through his clever deseriptive power and his talâ€" ent as a speaker and commentator. Another big hit of the evening was the dancing of the Irish Jig. _ This number was announced to be danced by a gentleman who apparently was aot present, and just as apparently was not expected to be present. *‘We are very sorry the gentleman is not present.‘‘ said Rev. Fr. Murray, who added that the gathering was not goâ€" ing to ‘be disappointed in having this danee, as he would dance it himself. And he did, with noteworthy slall and art, and won the unstinted apâ€" plause of all. The evening was voted by all to have been a thoroughly pleasant success from beginning to end. Rev. Fr. Murray and the Italiâ€" an Orchestra from North Bav have an Orchestra from North Bay have been making a tour of the North Land. ANOTHER FINE TIM®E AT ALLâ€"BRITAIN CLUB A very happy time was enjoyed at the dance held in the Moose Hall on Monday evening by the Allâ€"Britam Club. The attendance was large and all found the event most enjoyable. There was the usual dancing, foxtrots, waltzes, ladies‘ and gents‘ tags, etce. There was lots to eat and it was all mighty good. â€" The music by Mr. Geo. Jenkins and his orchestra was of the very best. Mr. S. WheBler, viceâ€"preâ€" sident, was the M.C. for the oceasion.
