GLUB PLANNING INTERESTING MEETINES HOGKEY BOVS CONTINUE T0 IMPROVE 1N PRAGTIGE For the casual visitor to drop in and| watch the Junior Hockey boys at pracâ€" tice after just one week‘s absence the improvement would be noticeable. _A week ago Monday night the boys made an impression on visitors, The interest and evident desire to coâ€"operate in every way possible with their coach, Mr. J. D. Brady, created a very fayâ€" ourable impression. _ But the great improvement. shown on «Jast Monday evening over the week previous was greater encouragement to any who, have at heart the interests of the boys who are to wear the blue and gold this winter. The attendance was not quite so large, a couple of the lads being under medical attention,. and â€" Thanksziving holiday nol ! l and the Thanksgiving holiday no doubt interfering with the attendance of a number of the others. But those present certainly followed the direcâ€" tions of Coach Brady in an Al manâ€" ner.. Mr. Brady is well satisfied with the showing made, and intends taking the boys out on road work in a week or two. The High School gym. is an ideal place for practice, every facility to round the lads into shape being there., And this with the great interest of the youngsters themselves will make the Timmins Junior Hockey team seâ€" cond to none this winter. The Haileyburian last week says :â€" ‘*About $250 in money and stamps was taken from the post office at Guiâ€" gues on Saturday night last when a thief or thieves entered the office and rifled the till. The post office is kept by A. Cote, who also runs a store in the village. _ _ The â€"post office change and stamps are not usually locked in the safe, as Mr. Cote is particular to keep them separate from his store business, and were left in the till. Sometime between Saturday night and Sunday morning the place was enâ€" tered and all change and stamps were missing in the morning. The gulty party or parties have not so far been located.‘* Next Meeting to be Men‘s Night Visitors‘ Night Nov, 24th. DEATH ON THURSDAY LAST OF MR. WM. H. The late Mr. Newsham, affectionâ€" ately known to his friends as ‘*Bill," had been ill over a year, during which time he suffered greatly,; so that the end came as a happy release to him, though the loss to his wife and baby son, who survive him, are irreparable. The funeral service was held in the United® Church, Timmins on Satâ€" urday, Nov. 6th, being conducted by Rev. R. 8. Cushing, rector of St. Matâ€" thew‘s, who was assisted at the serâ€" vice by Rev. J. D. Parks. The late Mr. Newsham served in the Imperial Navy from 1911 to 1920, and 1A the Canadian Navy from 1920 until it was disbanded, so at the funeral service there was special fitâ€" ness in rementbering those at sea, the An interesting programme is proâ€" mised the meinbers of the A.S.D.
