Parks Gives Appropriate Talk for Thanksgiving Day Week at Luncheon Here At the regular weekly luncheon of the Kiwanis Club, held on Tuesday of this week, on account of the regular day, Monday, being â€" Thanksgiving Day, the chief speaker was Kiwanian Rev.~J. D. Parks. His address was listened to with the very closest interâ€" est and attention, and proved one of the most inspiring of the many good addresses of the year.. He spoke on ‘*‘appreciation,"‘ which is the true Thanksgiving spirit. He used the Emerson poem, ‘*Apology,"" to point his moral in effective manner. _ His chief thought, among the many new lights he threw in interesting and original way upon his subject, was that the manliest and best of attitudes towards life was not to be envious of others but to be appreciative of what we have and All the many other adâ€" vantages we may attain. s LUCKY TIGER MINES DROP OPTION ON ROUYN CLAIMS The â€"Programme â€" Committee was authorized to arrange the programme for the next meeting of the Kiwanis Club, which will be held on Monday evening next, November 15th.= On that occeasion Capt. Milton State, a noted lecturer and traveller, will visit here and will give his now famous address, ‘*The Romance of Canada.‘"‘ Arrangements are now under way in preparation for the regular clecâ€" tion of officers for the ensuing term of the Kiwanis Club. A despatch from Rouyn says:â€" ‘*‘Terms of the option under which the Lucky Tiger Combination Mines of Sonora, Mexico, recently took over the group of claims in Montbray Township, known as the Eplettâ€"Metâ€" calfe property, appear to have been too stiff. It was learned here that the option has been dropped. Some encouragement was met in exploraâ€" tion work to date, but not apparently enough to justify the continuation of work under the present terms. It is understood that the original find turnâ€" ed out to be somewhat restricted in extent. Considerable ceash had to be paid over very shortly under the terms of the deal, and results apparently did not warrant this. Before the Lucky Tiger Mines took the option on the claims Fred Connell of Toronâ€" to had them optioned. _ The Lucky Tiger has also clainms staked in Montâ€" bray, Duprat, and Dasserat â€" Townâ€" ships. Some success has marked exâ€" ploration work to date. _ Winter quarters are now being put up on the Montbray property, and some dipâ€" needle work may be done this winter. * _ _#, #., #. #. # o ts 0s t 0 e es h N .
