All three occupants were pinned beneath the seats. Johnson was the first to extricate himself. He assisted Mecâ€" Donald out, but their combined efforts were not sufficient to release Chamâ€" bers. _ Two passing motorists, Fred and Emil Langlois, ®f Markstay, asâ€" sisted in raising the car but Chambers was dead, the back of the front seat being pressed tightly against the back of his neck, causing death from suffoâ€" cation. MeDonald is road foreman for the Northern Development at Stinson and was formerly a member of the Copper Cliff police forcee. Both cases were remanded until Friday of this week, bail being set at $500. Chisholm, of Toronto. was a visitor to Timmins last week. Investigations conducted byt ‘the Provincial Police into the death of (GGeorge Chambers who was killed on the North Bayâ€"Sudbury highway, last week, when a car in which he was riding turned turtle, have resulted in the apprehension of John MeDonald, the driver of the auto, on charges of consuming liquor in other than a private place, illegal ‘purchase and illegal transportation. George ‘Thomâ€" as, manager of the Gauthier House at Hahnapitae, is also charged with keeping liquor for sale, it being alâ€" leged that he sold a bottle of highâ€" wines to MeDonald, whieh was said to have ‘been discovered under the upâ€" turned car.
