The engineer‘s depaxtment was inâ€" structed to place service taps at the corner of Mountjoy and Columbus, and Mountjoy and Maple streets. Last week word was received in Timmins that Mr. 8. A. Caldbick, of Timimins, had been appointed Crown Attorney for the Distriect of Cochrane, to succeed Mr. J. M. Greer, of Cochâ€" rane, who resigned some time ago to devote all his time and attention to private practice. _ _ Throughout the district the appointment of Mr. Caldâ€" bick appears to be very popular. One barrister this week said:â€"*‘‘*He will be a worthy successor to John M. Greer. He has the big requirement for a good crown attorney; you can always depend on him ‘being absoluteâ€" ly straight and fair and honest; also he has a wide law reading and more than usual talent."" It is understood that Mr. Caldbick will continue to reside in Timmins. He will take over his new duties as crown attorney for the district at once.
