BRAZEAU HAS MOVED BACK TO TIMMINS AGAIN THE PORCUPINE ADVANCE, TIMMIN S, ONTARIO. As noted in The Advance last week, Mr. A. Brazeau has moved his family backto Timmins and agaifi has taken up permanent residence here He will be found now again permanently in business at the old stand, 10 Cedar street south, ready to meet all old friends or new customers, and ready with the best of service for all. -18. '- For years past. The Advance has hen urging the appointment of a game warden for the Porcupine dis- trict. Unless such an appointment is made there does not seem to be any hope that there will be any game or fish left. in this area. Sunday may be. quoted as an example. There were people on the river on Sunday in motor boats. The Advance is told, and some of these were shooting at the wild geese on their way north. The dynamiting of fish, the shooting of game out of season, and other un- sportsmanlike procedure that will mean soon the extinction of fish and game, are so frequent in this district that the outlook is poor for fish and game conservation unless something is done. The appointment of a game warden stationed here seems to be the only remedy. The Government has been repeatedly urged to make such a apliiointment. in the interests of the wild life of this district. WILL BUILD TO COAL FIELDS Surveys of the line have been made from the end of steel 'nerth (1f Coch- rane to the new «0211 fields, with the idea (11" extending the line to reach the 118“ coal fields. It is understood that. the T.»N.(). will proceed :11- n1ost i111111ediately to extend the line fur the advantage of the new (311111 fields. The annual meeting of the District Conservative Association is being held today at Iroquois Falls. Officers for the ensuing year will be elected and other business dealt with.- The annual meeting was originally called for April 15th, at Iroquois Falls, but had to be postponed on account of the change in the riding here. The new riding created through the divi- sion of the riding of Cochrane into two ridingsâ€"Cochrane North and Cochranc Southâ€"meant a change in the district organization to meet the new situation. \Vhile the question was being dealt with, it was decided to postpone the annual meeting of the association, A number from Timmins and other centres on the branch went over to- day to Iroquois Falls for the annual meeting of the District Conservative Association. CORBBIL WOMAN DIES IN DENTAL OFFICE “Pete Maher, chief locating engin- eer of the T. N.O. staff, who has been in North Bay for the past week. returned on \lenesday to Metagami River where he is completing the lo- cation of a branch line to the coal fields on the Metagami river. Mr. Maher’s party consists of twenty men and he will not return to North Bay for several months. The branch line will he run into the prospective coal fields to follow up the T. N.(). Com- mission policy in investigating all new discoveries in the North.” Mrs. S. Mosean, wife of the Town- ship Clerk of Corheil. died last week at a dental office in North Bay Recently Mrs. Moreau had suffered from heart attacks and was advised to have some teeth extracted. Fol- lowing the extraction of one tooth, she had an attack of heart trouble. Two medical doctors were secured. but despite their efforts she passed away. ABOUT THE T. N.O. BOARD OF HEALTH BENIBE fflflWAflfl llf HIE Tflllflllfl [NGUSH TEAM \VILLIAM ERNEST R A\\'LlNGS (centre forward). It is just as well to remember that ltawling‘s, of South- ampton. would have been one of the tinest centres of his day had he been constantly associated witl. a forward line where he would have been ade- tluately supported. He is, however, it Hampshire man and loves its plea- sant pastures. Born at Andover. for which team he tirst played. he iden- tified himself with the Southampton club at the latter end of 1918. Of course he served in the, war. being," in the 2-3111 \Vessex Field Ambulance with the 8th Division. He can sport on his breast the 1914 Star. In France he won three medals in Army football and was just the type of man Southampton were looking t'orm being.r 5 ft. 10 ins. and 104 lbs. Fast and a sure shot, he plies his wings with the ball and is a good combinâ€" ation footballer. Always a steady scorer, his best season was 1921-23 when he shot. ‘29 goals and was the main factor in lifting: his club from the Third to the Second Division. In that season he had the honour of playing for England against Wales and Scotland. During the current campaign he completed 100 goals in post-var league matches only. He is just the kind of player to score t‘reelv during this tour of Canada. Hundreds of wild geese were on their way to the far North on Sun- day this week, and appeared to have special information regarding the coming storm. They kept circling round after reaching Timmins, and kept searching apparently for a good camping spot to snuggle down in during the storm. A couple of boats on the river complicated matters for the geese, the boats carrying people equipped with guns who apparently were not seized with the seriousness of shooting at geese during the breed- ing season. The geese, however, even- tually found sanctuary at Haewyer, a farm up the river, where the pro- prietor would do some shooting at the human geese who would dare to Shoot at the wild geese during the mating time. At Haewyer, the geese t'elt safe and settled down in safety and com- parative comfort until the. big storm went by. There were two or three hunâ€" dred geese that took advantage of the shelter at Ilaewyer Farm. Here is an interesting sketch of amuther of the touring English RA. team to visit Timmins on Wednesday, July 7th. The sketch is from the pen of J. A. H. Patton, a noted fuot- ball writer, well known under the name of “Tityrus. ’ ’ :â€" Sketch of William Ernest Rawlings of Team to Play in Timmins on July 7th.
