Date for Naming The many football énthusiasts in Timmins will find the following reâ€" view of the rules and regulations of the Ontario Football Cup of special interest. There will be particular inâ€" terest in the clause requiring all disâ€" trict qualifying competitions to beé settled by the second Saturday in June. This does away with the holdâ€" up at the énd of the season, which has spoiled the competition each year for several years past. The following gare the ‘*Ontario Cup‘" rules as now laid down by the O.F.A. executive:â€" 1. The Cup shall be called the ‘‘Onâ€" tario Cup.‘‘ 2. The Cup shall be the property of the Ontario Football Association, and shall be held in trust by the Council. 3. The entire control and manageâ€" ment of this Competition shall be vested in the Council, subject to the provision of Rule No. 5. 8. Each District Association must send the name of the winner of their qualifying Competition to the Seereâ€" tary of the Ontario Football Asmociaâ€" tion not later than the 2nd Saturday of June; otherwise they will be deâ€" barred from taking any further part in the Competition. 4. The Competition shall be open to all Clubs in membership with District Associations in good standing with the Ontario Football Association. 9.‘ For the purpose of this Competiâ€" tion, a playing : member"of a ‘Club s one who has signed. the Registration Form of the Dominion of Canada Asâ€" sociation, and ‘been registered with the Ontario Football Association in accordance ‘with its Rules and Reguâ€" lations. 5. The Ontario Football Associaâ€" tion delegates to each District Associâ€" ation in good standing, full power to conduct and control a qualifying Competition for this Cup, and the receipts of the District Final shall be divided as follows: 1â€"3 to each comâ€" peting Club and to the District Asâ€" sociation concerned. 10. No player shall be allowed to play for than one Club in this Comâ€" petition, or any qualifying series in this connection. 4. 7. Each eligible Club desirous of, competing in this Competition shal give notice to the secretary of the Disâ€" trict Association in which it holds membership, on or before the date fixed by the District Association conâ€" cerned, and the fee of $20.00 must accompany such entry. The Secreâ€" tary of the District Association shall forward to the Secretary of the Onâ€" tario Football Association the sum of $15.00 for each such entry. 6. The entrance fee for this Comâ€" petition shall be $20.00. S a 11. In the event of a doubt as to the qualifications of any player the District Association in which his Club is a member shall have power to deâ€" cide his eligibilityâ€" or otherwige. appeal against any such decision must be lodged with the Secretary of the Ontario Football Association within three days of. such decision. 12. All appointed Referees shall be paid the: sum of $5.00 per game in this Competition, in addition to any actual travelling and hotel expenses 8T. The best of music and assurance of a good time for all attending. : HAILEYBURY‘S NEW HOTEL To COST OVER $189,000 The new hotel at Haileybury is running along to the $200,000 mark in the way of cost, Speaking, of affairs in connection with this magnificent new hotel, The Haileyburian last week says :â€"â€" "*That the new hotel would cost, when completed and furnished, someâ€" thing over $189,000, was the informaâ€" tion given out to the shareholders at the annual meeting held on Monday evening in the 1.0.0.F. Temple. These expenses shall be defrayâ€" ed from the receipts according to this list, and ‘the balance of receipts, if any, ‘shall be divided equally between the contending Clubs, except in the Semiâ€"Final anrd Finalâ€" Game, N.B. Should the receipts from any game be insufficient to cover the total expense involved, the Home Club shall be reâ€" sponsible only to the extent of the Receipts, after which the Visiting Club shall be responsible for all exâ€" pense incurred by their Officers or Representatives. 16. In the event of a Protest in the District Competition a fee of $25.00 must be deposited with the Secretary of the District Association.concerned prior to such protest ibeing considerâ€" ed; and such feeâ€"shall be either forâ€" feited or returned as the District Arâ€" sociation determines. 15. In the event of ‘a Protest â€" in this Competition a fee of $50.00 must be deposited with the Secretary of the Ontario Football Association prior to such protest being considered; and such fee shall be either forfeited or returned as the Council of Protest Committee shall determine. 18. On the Provincial Winner being declared, the Secretaryâ€"Treasurer of ithe Ontario Football Association shall prepare a Statement of all Receipts and Expenses and the balance shown shall be divided as follows : 1â€"3 to the Association, and the remainder dividâ€" ed pro rata among the Clubs concernâ€" N.B <All Clubs competing in this Competition must comply with the Financial Regulations contained in Rule 18 of the Amateur Challenge Gup Competition of the Dominion of Canada Football Association Rules. Ontario Football Association Plenty Cup Competition. - 1. This Competition shall be called the ‘‘Ontario Plenty Cup Competiâ€" 17. The Semiâ€"Finals and Final Games in this Competition will be conducted by the Ontario :Football Association, which shall take all reâ€" ceipts therefrom, and defray thereout, all expenses which in the opinion of the Ontario Football Association Council are necessary and proper acâ€" cording to and covered by these Rules. 2. This Competition shall be open to all Clubs nominated by all District Associations desiring to compete. tron. 9 I 4. All entries for this Competition must be in the hands of the Secneâ€" tary of the Ontario Football Associaâ€" tion by the 15th day of August in each year, accompanied by a fee of $5.00 for each competing Club. 3. This Competition shall be conâ€" ducted in accordance with the Rules of the Ontario: Series for the Dominâ€" ion Championghip Challenge Cup.. _ . EUCHRE FIVE HUNDRED. AND MUSICAL PROGRAMME There will be a Euchre, Five Hundâ€" red and Musical Programme in the Parish Hall, on Thursday evening of next week, March 18th, under the auspices of the R.C. Choir. A pleasâ€" ant evening is assured. â€" The Lancashire Club held very enâ€" joyable evening last Saturday in the Hollinger Recreation Hall. The chief feature of the evening was dancing, including waltzes, foxtrots, military twoâ€"steps, Paul Jones and a set of Lancers. There were five sets on the floor for the latter dance. Mr. W. Lainsbury added to the pleasure of the programme by two recitations very effectively given. He received much wellâ€"merited applause. The reâ€" freshments were plentiful and deliâ€" cjous. The A.S.D. Orchestra provided lots of good‘ music. Mr. S Wheeler, President of the Club, announced that there will be a general meeting of all Club mémbers at 8 p.m. next Saturâ€" day. It is very important that all members. turn out to this meeting.
