It isn‘t anything unusual for a perâ€" son to gain 10 pounds in 30 days, and for old people with feebleness overâ€" taking them they work wonders. You‘re behkind the times if you don‘t know that Cod Liver Extract is one of the greatest flesh producers in the world. Because it contains more vitalizing vitamines than any food you can get. You‘ll be glad to know that Meceâ€" coy‘s Cod Liver Extract Tablets come in sugar coated form now, so if you really want to put 10 to 20 pounds of solid, healthy flesh on your bones and feel well and strong and have a comâ€" plexion that people will admireâ€"ask any druggist for a box of MeCoy‘s Cod Liver Extract Tablets. Only 60 cents for 60 tablets and if you don‘t gain five pounds in 30 days your druggist will hand you back the noney you paid for them. If you would never had an evil deed spoken of in connection with you, don‘t do one. Results of the December Theory Examinations will be published in next week‘s issue of The Advance. The following is a list of the fire calls for the week past:â€" Although there are no fires of any proportions, there are many calls to be answered these days by the briâ€" gade. No doubt the speedy responses made and the â€"efficient work of the Chief and the firemen make it possible to record ‘‘only a chimney fire‘‘ and ‘‘no damage done.‘‘ In the past week or so there were five alarms, with damage done only in one case and in that case the householder himself did the damage in his efforts to get at the fire in a floor ignited by burning stovepipes. FIVE FIRE CALLS DURING THE PAST SEVEN DAYS The verdict stated that the conâ€" tractors permitted the use of tape fuse in shooting holes and that the hoist man should not have hoisted away from a blast without the proâ€" per signal. The only evidence was that of J. C. MceMillan, the mine inâ€" spector who said that his examinaâ€" tion of ‘the shaft bore out the testiâ€" mony adduced by previous witnesâ€" ses, COBALT, Ont., Jan. 12.â€"Responâ€" sibility for the double fatality in the blasting aceident at the Hector Mines, in Gillies Limit, a week ao'o, was placâ€" ed today by a coroner‘s jury on one of the victims. At the adjourned, inâ€" quest a verdict blaming Charles Pattie for his own and Frank Lund‘ s death, was returned, while it was further eld by the jury that Stewart brothers the contractors, who did the shaft sinking, and Jesse Burke, the hoist man had violated the provisions of the Mining Act. G. ‘g Henry, Minister of Public Work, in ‘which he has been quoted as reterrlng to the North Land as *‘‘this winterland.‘‘ With the present cold snap, this may seen like a nasty insinuation. _ The truth, however, is likely that Hon. Mr. Henrv used the expression *‘ this hinterland.‘‘ The intelligent composiâ€" tor put a ‘*‘‘w‘‘ instead of an *‘‘h"‘ and a dozen newspapers have fallen into the same error. This may be a ‘*thinterland‘‘ but it is not any *‘ winterland,‘‘ except in spots and at times. The funeral took place on Sunday to ‘the Timmins R. C. church and cemetery and was largely attended. The attendance and the beautiful floral offerings testiffied to the esâ€" teem in which the late Mr. Houle was held. Among the floral tokens were: wreaths, from the Melntyreâ€"Poreuâ€" pine Mines, from Mr. and Mrs. H. kKee, and from a nephew of the deâ€" ceased, Mr. A. Houle; floral crosses, from brother and brotherâ€"inâ€"law sisâ€" ter‘s and other relatives. The sincere sympathy of all will be extended to the family and near friends in the sad death, following an accident at the MceIntyre Mine, of Mr. C. Houle. On Thursday mornâ€" ing last Mr. Houle was at work in the shaft when in some unaceountâ€" able way some ore from a bucket fell upon his head, fracturing his skull. He was rushed to ‘the hospital and every possible care and skill given him but he passed away without reâ€" gaining consciousness. The late Mr. Foule was about 51 years of age and came to the Camp from Cochrane, working at the Melntyre since last June. His family only moved here about a month ago. A widow and two sons and two daughters are left to . mourn his loss. There is a son of fourteen and a daughter of eight years of age at home, while a married daughter resides at Cochâ€" rane and a married son lives at Smooth Rock Falls, Threesisters reside in Timmins, one of them beâ€" ing Mrs. F. Roy. The deceased also had three other sisters living in Cochrane, a brother being at Smooth Rock Falls, and his father being a resident of Cochrane. The late Mr. Houle was theld in the very highest regard by all who came in contact with him and the bereaved relatives have the very deepest sympathy of all in their affliction. We regret to report that Mr. J. G. Barron, our newly elected member of the township council, has been indisâ€" posed for a few days by a slight atâ€" tack of la grippe.
