There was a very pleasing and successful sacred concert held at the Baptist church on Friday evening last by the Baptist Church Mission Circle. There was a large attendance and all found the evening an interâ€" esting and inspiring one, the program being particularly attractive. The meeting was opened with devotional exercises, seripture reading and introâ€" ductory remarks by the President of the Circle, Mrs. G. A. Macdonald. Miss Olive Copp then took the chair and gave a very interesting and helpâ€" ful address on *A Mission Circle." Ladies of the Cirecle rendered two choruses, ‘‘Blessed _ Saviour,‘‘ and ‘‘Watch and Pray,"‘ in very pleasing way. During the taking of the offerâ€" ing Mrs. Rand, Mrs. Geo. Pond and Mrs. 0. COMMENT ON FPOOTBALL SITUATION IN TORONTO There has been considerable comâ€" ment on the situation created by the recent default of Ulsters in the Onâ€" tario Cup series. It is worthy of note, as indicative of a proper appreâ€" ciation of good sportsmanship, that there is no defence offered for the unâ€" sporismanslike action of the Ulsters. In The North Bay Nugget last week there were the following interesting paragraphs on the sports page:â€"â€" ‘*‘There is a hot fight on in Toronto over the action of the O.F.A. in closâ€" ing the Ulster Stadium, as a result of the team‘s refusal to meet Timmins on Saturday, The owners of the staâ€" dium point out that it and the team are two entirely different things and that it is an injustice to penalize the owners of the stadium for what the team has done.
