An alarm of fire from Box 13 on Thursday night at 10.50 brought out not only the fire brigade, but also a big crowd who heard the alarm and saw big volumes of smoke, together with sparks and reflection of flames pouring from the top of the Reed block. To those at a distance, it looked at first like a big fire well unâ€" der way, the heavy air making the smoke hang low and the general effect of sky and atmosphere being such as to give the appearance of aâ€"bad fire. It turned out, however, to be only a chimney fire, with no damage done, and without any particular danger. The motor truck and firemen were soon on the seene and all chances of danger were quickly removed by use of the chemical. There was a lot of smoke, but though chimney and pipes were on fire, there was no damage done. HON. MB. Bradette in the field to win I understand that some interested parties are spreading a report to the effect that I have withâ€" drawn from the field in the Dominion Election Contest now on, or that I intend to withdraw before the election. â€" There is no truth whatever in these reports. I AM IN THE FIELD TO STAY, AND TO WIN. Ientered the contest in response to the call of hundreds of voters who felt they were being disenfranchised by machine politics. I am in the battle to smash the machine in the interests of the people and of the North. I will not give up the battle. I solicit the vote and influence of every man and woman who wishes the Riding of North Temiskaming to be represented by a Member who knows the North, whose interests are in the North and who will fight for the advantage of the North. tea loses its strength and flavor.
