His subject wi Missions in New Ontario Now here is the Wawhewawa corâ€" respondent‘s plan to better the prict of pulpwood : â€" ‘*Pulpwood is beginning to peel. But it‘s a wise settler that won‘t cut any this year. At the price that is being offered per cord, a settler would have to lose a dollar or more for each cord of wood ‘he takes out this year. The trouble with pulp is, that too much of it is being ®%eut. Thousands af cords of last year‘s wood are still on the sidings. An soon as settlers on the sidings. An s0oon as settlers stop selling at the present price, the price will go up. So don‘t ecut any pulpwood this year unless you must."‘ Now, trot along a plan for collectâ€" ing that money due for pulpwood from settlers,â€"money four vears overâ€" The suggestion is made by the Wawbewawa correspondent of _ The New Liskeard Speaker that. if the settlers grould stop sellimg=pulpwood for a time, or stop trying to "sell the pulpwood, the price would _ go up. [Now, The Advance is publishâ€" ing the paragraph by the Wawbewawa correspondent along this line, and wili be still more doughtcd to â€" publish another paragraph, if the Wawhewawa (uncwomlcnt can furnish it, suggestâ€" ing any way for the settlers to" collecti for pulpwood bought from the settlers by the Mattagami Pulp Paper Co., previous to 1921. The Mattagamti Pulp Paper Co.. has ‘been in a reâ€" ceivership for four years, while the settlers have gone without their money for that time. It is a shame that this should be the fact, but is is true, nevertheless, and no one in authority seems to give a hoot about it. The settlers are told that the manner in which they have been kept out of their money is a perfectly legal one and no one can do anything about it but weep. A new law is being put into foree to help the Home Bank depositors. Surely, if this is good policy, it would also be good policy to see that the setâ€" tlers are not kept waiting longer for the money due them for over four years by the Mattagami Pulp Paper Co. If the Paper Co. ean be protected by a Receivership, and if the Home Bank depositors can be reâ€" lieved by a special law, is there no protection or relief for the settlers who are the men who are the pioneers and the backbone of this North Land ?
