A fire occurred in the building at which Jacobella had his shoe nepair shop and furniture on which Jacobella claimed insurance was said to ‘be later found in another building. Jacobella is said to ‘have been noticed around the building at the time of the ffire. In the fire a little ‘hov lost his life. ~ Haileybury and Cobalt are underâ€" stood to be taking up lacrosse this year and The New Liskeard Speaker had a front page article urging Lisâ€" keard sports to follow the same exâ€" ample. The Speaker touches on the history of lacrosse, shows what a good game it is, and refers to its populariity in the years that are gone. There are thirtyâ€"two cells in the new jail.\ Mrs, Howard Curry, Main Avenue, passed away on Thursday evening from heart trouble. Mrs. Curry who was the wife of Mr. H. Curry of the permanent staff at the Timmins Fire Hall, was highly esteemed and popuâ€" lar among all who knew her, and her death is very deeply regretted. In addition to the bereaved husband three small children survive. _ Her mother and sister from Indiana arâ€" rived here this week on learning of the sad event. The funeral took place on Saturday last, the services being conducted by Rev. J. D. Parks, of the Presbyterian church. Among the floral tokens was a beautiful wreath from Chief Borland and the paid men on the brigade, the fellow workers of the bereaved husband thus expressing their heartfelt sympathy and sorrow. The feeling of sympathy for the beâ€" reaved relatives in the death of this young woman is very general and very sincere. Roland Vaillant died in the hospital about midnight Saturday as a result of injuries sustained in an aceident at the Hollinger Mine about 9.30. He and Geo, Couture were working on contract work at the 1,800â€"ft. level, and had blasted some holes. Going back to clean up Vaillant‘s pick is thought to have struck either an unâ€" discharged hole or unexploded powâ€" _der.
