If North Bay has reason to consider the electric light question, then the Town _ of Timmins has three times as much Last week a deputation from North Bay waited on the Hydno officials in Toronto. Commenting on the matter The Nugget says:â€" matter Nugget says:â€"â€" ‘‘The franchiseâ€" of the Hydroâ€" Electric ‘Commission in North Bay will expire at the end of this year and the Nonthern visitors came here with a view to getting a greater deâ€" velopment of power from the method of distribution. Though no official announcement has yet been made it is understood that a definite propoâ€" sition will be made to North Bay and that it will be substantially as follows: The govennment will underâ€" take the development of additional power to 3,600 ‘horsepower, to be amortized in thirty years. Proviâ€" sion will be made for retirement of the bond issue from the earnings of the power development and at the end of the 30â€"year period, the govâ€" ernment will step aside and the deâ€" velopment will ‘become the property of the three Northern â€" communities, North Bay, Powassan and South River. Each town will be expected to arnange for its own distribution and a Public Utilities Commusion will ‘be suggested for North Bay. The. members of this commission would ‘be elected by the ratepayers of the townâ€"and might possibly be elected for various termms. Thus, two commissioners might ‘be elected for threeâ€"year terms; two for two yeans and two for one year, and this would provide that four of six memâ€" bers would earry over the end of bers would earry over the end of every year and that the new men elected each yean would be for threeâ€" year terms. Under this plan, North Bay would take over the present disâ€" tribution system in the town of the Hydroâ€"Electmice â€" Commission _ and operate the distribution of light and power as a municipal enterprise.‘‘ Some of the busiest people are only picking up the beans that they have spilled themselves. â€"Mutual Mutterâ€" zht ‘be elected ; two for two year, and this ir of six memâ€" T.
