The Council Meeting which was to take place on Monday of last week, was put over until Tuesday afterâ€" noon at 5.00 p.m., when the Reeve! and Councillors were present. Many important questions were brought up and passed on, among them being many claims of exemption on taxes for the past year. These were given serious consideration and dealt with accordingly to the satisfaction of all concerned.= The question of a Police parking byâ€"‘law fon Jitney. drivers calling for passengers after the show, was also taken up and set over until the next Council meeting, when an adjustment to the situation will uns doubtedly be forthcoming. A sma‘ crowd attended the meeting. There was an Auction sale of Oflice furniture and other accessories at the Davidson Gold Mines last. week. Several of the business men of town attended the sale. An extnaordinary bit of diard luck hit the New School last week when it was noticed that one of the seeâ€" tions of the Boiler had eracked, makâ€" inz it impossible to heat the buildâ€" ing. Apparently there was a flaw in the section when it was installed and was not noticed, becoming worse with use. The School Board lost no t‘‘lme in securing another small emerâ€" gency ‘boiler and in a short time the heat was on again and everybody was happy. The other boiler will ‘be rveâ€" paired. as «oon as the new section arrives.
