THE PORCUPINE ADVANCE, TIMMINS, ONTARIO On Wednesday last at Timmins, the Miners again came through on the long end of the score by defeating the Papermakers 3 to 2. With Ellie Little holding the Miners away from ‘the plate in the first three frames, the Papermakers were busy, seoring a run in the first on a walk, a hit batsman, a sacrifice and a hit. They also got a run in the third on two hits and an error. Little pitched a splendid game and with better support behind the plate might have sent the game into extra innings. Mcintyre‘s Hit Deciding Factor in Win for Miners There was more action crammed into the contest than in any game seen here in years. Tate on the mound for Timmins started out in erratic way by walking and hitting the first two men to face him, but soon settled down and pitched one of the best games of his career. After the fourth frame the game settled down to a pitching duel between Tate and Little, with Tate showing the better form and more effectiveness in the pinches. L LCA C a 2 Sceully made a splendid catch of Gauthier‘s fly in the fifth, and cut off a run at the plate on a perfect throw} in the first frame. McGrath came through with an unusual play when he threw out a batsman at first base from right field. He also contributed the single that enabled Tate to cross the plate with the tying run. - MclLean at short accepted his two hard chances in faultless style, and Pierce came through with a perfect sacrifice that put Seully in position to seore..
