His home was in Toronto but he made frequent visits to Timmins, being the auditor for the Hollinger Mine, the Hollinger Stores and other big busiâ€" ness concerns in the Camp. While he was rated very high in his profession, he was given equally high rating as a man by all who knew him. During his frequent visits here he showed great interest in the Caledonian Soâ€" ciety and his wise and witty addresses his topical poems, and his general wveniality won him hosts of fmends. There were about 150 present, and all in eostume. The originality and variety of the cosâ€" tumes made the event particularly atâ€" tractive. At lumeheon there was a general unmasking. Music for the dancing was provided by a fourâ€"piece orchestra, including ‘Miessrs. J. T. Bridges, J. Cunliffe, G. Makin and H. and. this orchestra certainâ€" ly made a hit with the good music furnished. The luncheon, of course, was up to the high standard of #osâ€" pitality always set by the Lancashire Club. Among the dancing numbsers were the Lancers, square dances and several novelties. In addition there were vocal musical selections of specâ€" ial merit.
