Mr. Bull secured a remand to this week in the case. Magistrate Atkinson fined D. Alekna $200.00 and costs for illegally having liquor. A. Barbhas, for illegal purchase of liquor, ‘was fined $50.00 and costs. An assault charge was dismissed. BIG POLICE COURT FPOR THURSDAY OF THIS WEEK SMALL POLICE COURT, IT NETTED $250 LAST WEEK Usually Christmas Week is an easy week in the matter of police court, but not so this week. ‘There is a big variety as well as a large number of cases for toâ€"morrow (Thursday) to come before Magistrate Atkinson. In addition to remands from last week there will be a number of serions charges to be heard, most of them in connection with Jliquor. The cases, however, include one now listed as atâ€" tempt to murder. This latter is a charge against a colored man just coming to town last week and giving the name of Sam Norman. He got into a dispute over the matter of a quarter, according to the story told the ‘police, and proceeded to clean up the man ‘who argued with him. A brother of the man attacked werlt to see fair play and this brother (A. DPrssornjzsainx) received a bad gash from a knife or razor, necessitating medical attention.
