MONTGOMERY, 49â€"51 Clerk, On the Second day of January 1923, being the day following the return of the ballot papers, at the hour of T welâ€" ve o‘elock noon at the Town Offices in the Town of Timmins the Clerk of the Municipality shall attend and sum up the votes given for and against the proposed Byâ€"law. On the 290th day of December, 1922, at the hour of Ten o‘clock in the foreâ€" noon the Head of the Council of the said Corporation, or some member of the Council appointed for that purâ€" pose by resolution, shall attend at the Town Offices in the Town of Timmins for the purpose of appointing, and if requested so to do shall appoint by writing signed by him, two persons to attend at the final summing up of the votes by the Clerk, and one person to attend at the polling place on Jbehalf of the persons interested in and proâ€" moting the proposed byâ€"law and one person on behalf of the persons interâ€" ested in and opposing the proposed: byâ€"la w. The above is a true synopsis of a proposed byâ€"law and if the assent of the electors is obtained to it it will be taken into consideration by the Counâ€" cil of the Municipal Cmpoxatlon of Timmins after one month from the sixth day of December, 1922, being the date of first publication thereof, and the polls for taking the votes of the electors will be held at the Town Hall and Finlanders Hall in the Town of Timmins at the annual election on Monday the first day of January 1923, between the hours of Nine o‘elock in the forenoon and Five o‘clock in tne afternoon. The agreement to enure for a term of ten years and for two further and successive terms of ten years each, or as long as permitted by the Municipal Act, and at the termination thereof the Town to have the right to purâ€" chase the plant and undertaking. The Town to convey to the Mine land necessary for Pump station ana to lease the present pump scation an land occupied therewith to the tmeuuc, same to be maintained by the Mine; to chlorinate water passing through the existing ten inch maing; and to permit the Mine to use without charge the present water main; to take all water required for town use from the Mine; to permit the Mine to use and occupy the highways of the Municiâ€" pality for the purpose of such instalâ€" lation. Timmins THJ]} PORCUPINE ADVANCE The Goldale properties are controlâ€" led by the company incorporated to take over the Bewickâ€"Moreing properâ€" ties in the Poreupine. In this comâ€" pany the Kerr Lake Mine people of Cobalt have the controlling interest. They have a list of 52 claims in the Poreupine. This year work has keen concentrated on the property at the north end of Pearl Lake. Considerâ€" able diamond drilling has been done with pleasing results, and a shaft has been put down 525 feet. The sinking Consolidated Westâ€"Dome Lake The Consolidated Westâ€"Dome Lake is the amalgamation of the Dome Lake and ‘West Dome ‘Consolidated, two very promising properties consist ing of 8 claims adjoining the Big Dome. The new company has a caâ€" pitalization of five million dollars. A new hoist, transformers, etc., have reâ€" cently been installed and added to the previous equipment make a nice little mining plant. Deâ€"watering of the proâ€" perty will be done at the beginning of the new year. ‘The main shaft is down 600 feet. The mill on the property has a eapacity of 100 tons a day. The prospects for this property look good. The Clifton Now Producing The Clifton Poreupine in Deloro Township, not far from the Dome Mines, and in the immediate vicinity of the ‘Paymaster, is one of the smalâ€" ler properties that has made a noteâ€" worthy showing this year. Developâ€" ment work on extensive plan met with excellent results. The main shaft is now down 220 feet and a pleasing body of good ore has been encounterâ€" ed in the work. A mill of 40 tons caâ€" pacity was installed recently and is now running, treating about 30 tons daily. It is worthy of special note that the money from the production is not to ‘be used for dividends but to further develop this very promising property. The Clifton consists of 47 acres, and recent work has ‘been unâ€" usually pleasing and successful. ‘The Clifton certainly promises to be a eood little mine in the making. s The Porcupme f Much Good Work on the Goldale Claims. Intenâ€" sive development to date has been resâ€" tricted to the western end of the fisâ€" sure, where over $1,600,000 of ore of an average grade, top, bottom and sides of $12.00 per ton has been deâ€" Exploration by shafts, pits, diaâ€" mond drilling, trenching and outcrops has demonstrated a continuous ore fisâ€" sure for a distance of 10,000 ft., the ore bodies and conditions at both ends In the section where the first gold finds were made in Poreupine,â€"the Night Hawk Lake areaâ€"there is one of the most promising properties in the North Land. This is the Poreupine Peninsular, or, as it is now termed, ‘*The Night Hawk Peninsular Mines Limited.‘‘ During the past year this property has developed from a prosâ€" peet to a real mine in the making. The company owns and controls under Crown Lease and working options and agreements some 1230 acres in the Townships of ‘Cody and Macklem, about ten miles south by water from Connaught Station. Diamond Drilling at Newray The Newray property is under opâ€" tion to the Coniagas Co. of Cobait and reports relative to the property are very good. Recently an extensive diaâ€" mond drilling campaign was completâ€" ed, with the results reported as very satisfactory. The plant is being put in shape and it is expected that deâ€" watering will be under way before the first of the year, and mining operaâ€" tions conducted on a good seale. There will ‘be shaftâ€"sinking, crossâ€"cutting, etc., to catchâ€"the ore bodies located by the diamond drill work. The Goldale also has a number of other very favourably located claims that may later prove of worth. of this shaft was specially noteworthy for the record time in which the work was accomplished. There has been con siderable crossâ€"cutting, drifting and other underground work, all with good results it is understood. There has been a considerable amount of comâ€" mercial ore encountered in the work done, and prospects look very bright. THE PORCUPINE PENINSULAR diamond drilled, there being three diaâ€" mond drill outfits now on the properâ€" ty. The Paymaster has a good equipâ€" ment, with comfortable quarters for the employees. The money being spent is going into imining and development, and from all indications it is going to bring firstâ€"class returns.
