Mulbheron, now resident at Gravenhurst, but formerly one _ of the pioneers of the Poreupine, and for several years manager of the Hoâ€" tel CGoldfields, is a visitor to town this week, renewing acquaintances here and greeting old friends. Mr. J. Dagenais, of the tailoring firm of Dagenais Campbell, reâ€" ceived word on Monday evening of the illness of his mother at her home in Arnprior. Mr. Dagenais left on Tuesday morning for Arnprior where he will spend a week or two. During his absence the â€" tailoring business here will be earried on as usual by the other partner, Mr. Campbell. Mr. A. R. Globe, formerly assisâ€" tant general manager of the Hollinâ€" ger, ‘but latterly with the _ Moose Mountain Iron Mines at Sellwood, near Sudbury, was a visitor to the Camp last week and was cwarmly grected by his many friends here who were delighted to ses him again but sincerely regretful at the occasâ€" ion of this visit, the latter being due to the sad death of Mr.. Fogg left last week for a holiday visit to Portland, Maine, and other points south. makir Mr. Geo. M. Black, formerly of the office staff of the Poreupine Crown here, returned this week to the Porâ€" cupine after some months at Cobalt. The Tuesday evening dances in the New Empire Theatre Basement have been cancelled for the present,â€" on account of the Lenten season and ather reasons, but ‘‘Seotti‘‘ Wilson promises lots of good times for the lovers of dancing as the days journey along this year. Mr. W. M. Bain, of Hamilton, father of the late Jack Bain, arrived in the Camp on Wednesday evening last. As soon as he was informed of the serious illness of his son he left Hamilton to come to Timmins but was unable to reach here before hms son passed away. On arrival here he made arrangements to take the reâ€" mains home to Hamilton for interâ€" ment, and the funeral left here on Thursday morning, the Timmins Volâ€" unteer Fire Brigade accompanying the coffin to the station. Among the beautiful floral tokens was a wreath from the Timmins Fire Brigade as an expression of the regret and sorrow at the loss of one of their valued comrades. The many friends of Mr. E. H. Bridger, now in charge of Mr. Homâ€" er L. Gibson‘s oflice in Toronto, are pleased to see him back in the Camp for a visit. He came up Saturday evening and will remain until next Monday. While here he is spending most of his time at the Cliftonâ€"Porâ€" cupine Mine, of which he is the Acâ€" ting Secretary, gathering the necesâ€" sary data ang making the required preparations for the annual meeting of the Company which will be held in the course of the next few weeks. Returning from a visit to the proâ€" perty this week ‘he summed up his opinion by saying, ‘‘The more I see of it the better I like it, and the more promising its outlook appears. The work at the property is being condueâ€" ted energetically but _ economeally. is no waste of money or effort.
