On motion of Councillors Nowâ€" ton and De Fey it was decided to have a byâ€"law prepared requiring all board ing haouses to be duly licensed, the fee, however, will be only the nominal one f $1.00 per year. The idea is to bring all these places under proper upervision and~control. As Chief of Police Wilson pointed out, there are wrong conditions at present at many f these places, in regard to the keepâ€" ing of a proper register, in regard to accommodatron, the conduct of the places, ote., and the town, without byâ€"law providing for a license and for general cortrol, can do little in the way of supervision. The byâ€"law, howâ€" ever, will give the town full control and supervision to the general advant age. Under the byâ€"law all the hotels and rooming houses will have to keep a register of all stopping at ther place, and this wegister will ‘beâ€"of much convenience to the authorities in manyv ways. 1own.
