Indeed, it must be admitted that many people living right here in this North Land do not appreciate the propoxtions to which some of our ‘‘infant industries"‘ have grown. The Abitibi Power Paper Co. is only one of the several big inâ€" dustries of the North. 1Its main plant is at Iroquois Falls where the producâ€" tion during 1919 was remarkable. The Company‘s output may be summarizâ€" ed as follows:â€" 150 tons of sulphite pulp, daily; 300 tons of groundwood pulp, daily; 250 tons of newsprint paper, daily. In addition to this large production, which places the Abitibi Company among the leading produâ€" cers in the pulp and paper industry on this continent, the Abitibt are planning and preparing now to proâ€" duced 200 to 250 tons mors per day, or a total daily proquction of about 500 tons of newsprint at the big Iroâ€" quois Falls plant. At present it is expected that New Liskeard will win the ‘honors for the Central group but it is too early in the series to do much speculating on winners, for lots may happen after a game of two. At present there is one thing, however, that does look sure and certain and that is that the North Land this year is going to have a good supply of the best brand of hockey, and that the Poreupine is going to have its full share of clean and celeverlyâ€"contested cames. 250 TONS OF NEWSPRINT MADE DAILY AT THE FALLS.
