Brown in charge of the Timmins Office, New Empire Theatre Block. CONSERVATION REQUIRED TO SAVE PULP LIMITS. On several recent oceasions atâ€" tention has been called to the fact that measures are necessary for the conservation . of the pulpwood â€"reâ€" sourees of Canada. The Abitibi Power .Paper Company at Iroquois Falls recognize the necessity for conâ€" servation have spared neither time, talent nor expense in the evolyâ€" ing of measures to this end. Large sums of money have been expended by the Abitibi Co. in dealing with fungi and insect pests that destroy the forest wealth;great attention has been given to measures looking to the protection of forests from bush fires ; and recently a very comprehensive scheme of reforestation has been comâ€" menced on a large seale. Mr. C. Green Price, Industrial Commussioner of the Canadian National Railways, at the fifth annual Exposition of Cheâ€" mical Industries in Chicago recently stated that the world may have to fall back upon straw of wheat and other erains for its supply of newsprint, if the rapid destruction of Canadian pulpwood resourees is permitted to continue. There is a tendeney for people to look upon the Canadian pulpwood limits as pi'wtioallv withâ€" out limit, but this of course is not the fact. Canada has the largest forest area in ‘the British Empire, containâ€" ing 350,000 square miles of pulpwood forests, approximating to one thouâ€" sand million cords of pulpwood. But on the other hand, no less than 30 acres of forest is consumed, aceordâ€" ing to Mr. Green for one edition of Chicago‘s largest newspaper. At the present rate of consumption, and desâ€" truction by fire, insects and fungus growths, the time is not far distant, Mr. Green points out, when the worla will have to find a substitute for spruce for making newsprint paper. Then it is likely that the huge quanâ€" tities of straw now being wasted will be utilized. In the meantime efforts looking ‘towards the conservation of the great pulpwood resourees of Caâ€" nada are in order, and the Abitih Power Paper Company, for examâ€" ple, is to # congratulated on its eâ€" forts to this good end.. Canada has a wonderful wealth of pulpwood forâ€" ests, as North Landâ€" gives so much of living evidenece, but it is well to remember that thers is an everlastâ€" in@g moral truth in the old proverb, "Wilful waste makes woeful want!* Capt. The Nujol Treatment as Sickness Prevention For Constibation Science, with antiâ€"toxins, serums, and modern sanitation, has done much to prevent dangerous disease; but the diseases so checked are comparatively few. On the other hand, 90% of a// diseases have one common originâ€" constipation. ‘The dangers of constipation are so farâ€"reaching, because the blood receives poisons from an infected mass within, and carries them directly to every organ of the body ; and because constipation itself keeps the system in a runâ€" down condition so that any infectious germs from without readily gain foothold. Keep clear of constipation and you guard against serious disease. â€" Nujol will remove constipation and prevent its return. | The action of Nujol is entirely different from that of any other constipation remedy.
