Hoggarth, wife of the new principal of Timmins Public School, prior to her removal to this town. An address expressive of the appreciation â€"felt for the character and efforts of Mrs. Hoggarth in all worthy causes was read by Mrs. John X. MeDonald, while the President of the Ladies‘ Aid, Mrs. J. J. Cameron, on behalf of the Society, presented Mrs. Hoggarth with a beautiful set knives. â€"forks and X. Bishop Latulippe returned last week to Haileybury from Montreal where he has been seriously ill for some time. All will be pleased to learn that he is much improved in health. Miss Platt who has been Office Manâ€" ager for the Iroquois Falls Merchanâ€" dising Co. for the past twenty months, has resigned her position, and gone to her home near Sudbury. She wlll be gcreatly missed in social circles. The Timmins Band, looking eSpecl- ally well in their handsome new uniâ€" forms, including the new hats, favorâ€" ed the public with many wellâ€"rendered selections at the Imperial Bank eorner on Sunday evening. Much favorable comment was heard regarding not onâ€" ly the good appearance of the Band, but also the excellent music furnishâ€" ed. Mr. and Mrs. P. J. Mackay on Monday for Woodstock for a visit, after which they will go on to Fort William, where Mr. Mackay has aeâ€" cepted a position. Mr. Mackay has been a very popular member of the J. P. MelLaughlin staff here for the past two years, and there will be genâ€" eral regret at the removal of the family from town. Pte. Hugh MeEachern, who won the Military Medal for conspicuous braveâ€" ry in France, is visiting the Camp on leave, having been mvahded home. He was formerly on the Government Roads staff here under Alex.
