His departure will be re- gretted by all with whom he was associated, either in a business or social way. The death of Chris Dowd occurred at the Iroquois Hotel Sunday from hemorrhage of the lungs. Mr. Dowd was a man passing close to the six- ty mile post of this life and a well known prospector and miner in the north country camps. A telegram was received here Tuesday morning from his brother, Patrick Dowd, of North Wakefield, to haVe burial take place here, as the expense of ship- ping the body home for Uurial was more than he cared to pay.
