Notes
Girl Guides is an organization devoted to the growth of girls in the community. It grew out of the Boy Scouts movement in the early part of the twentieth century. In fact it was Agnes Baden Powell who was placed in charge of the "Girl Scouts." Girl Guides of Canada was official incorporated in 1917, and now has many streams including: Sparks (the last addition to the program in 1989), Brownies, Guides, Pathfinders, Jr. Leaders, and Rangers. The programs now are for girls ranging in age from 5-18.
