Gaylord Powless will be the first recipient .of The Times Athlete-of-the-Year Tro- phy. The annual award was in- augurated as a Centennial Year feature by the hometown news- paper of Ontario County. He was chosen most popular driver in Oshawa several times and has raced with great success at many tracks across Canada.
