ANDRE DURAND Recording Secretary This is indeed a special year for the Women's Auxiliary the Oshawa General Hospital whose diamond anniversary co-|students is still carried on and | incides with Canada's Centen- nial. To mark the two-fold cele- bration a pledge of $100,000 was made to the Hospital Building Fund. In raising this amount the main source of revenue will be derived from the Hospital|and Doll Draw to be held on| Gift Shop though social fund- raising events could contribute greatly. Such annual functions as the St. Patrick's Birdge and the fall Bake Sale and Doll Draw are projects of the After- moon Auxiliary while a Chinese Auction, a gala January Dance and a Fashion Show are spon- sored by the Evening Chapter. Of the 326 total membership, 130 are active volunteers who make possible such services as the Emergency Cupboard which issues personal needs to emergency patients; distribu- tion of Remembrance Gifts to all patients on Christmas Eve; provision for Sunday services in the Chapel; supervision of the activities of paediatric patients by the Play Ladies; contribu- tions of knitting and sewing to Nursery and Paediatric wards as well as Library Service to all rooms. Entertainment is ar- of | lranged for student and gradu- ating nurses and their resi- dences supplied with news- papers and magazines. | The annual Scholarship Award of $500 to physiotherapy we are justly proud of, our Candystriper Program which is one of the most successful in existence, McLaughlin Hall will be the jnew location of our Bake Sale |November 24.
