JACOB DENNIS Family, Friends Hold Reception For Couple's 25th Anniversary, Wits Marinoe Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Dennis were honored recently on the occasion of their 25th wedding anniversary by a reception held in the Slovak Hall. Mr. and Mrs. Dennis were married in Canora, Saskatche- wan by the late Rev. John Gregorash. Jacob Dennis is the son of Mrs. John Dennis of Canora, Saskatchewan and the late Mr. Dennis. Mrs. Dennis is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wil- liam Tkatch of Oshawa, for- merly of Canora, Saskatchewan. The attendants at the wedding twenty-five years ago, Ernest Stefanuik of Newmarket and Mrs. William Kyha_ of Sas- katchewan were unable to at- tend the reception. Mr. and Mrs. Dennis have two children, a son Ronald and a daughter, Catherine. Their children presented them with a corsage of white carnations and a boutonniere. The head table was centred with a three-tiered wedding cake and white candles. The floral arrangements, white cry- santhemums and pink carna- tions were a gift from Mr. and Mrs. Dennis' children. The Reverend John Jacenty said grace after which dinner was served. Those serving were Mrs. Mac Van Allen, Mrs. Michael Bozowsky, Mrs. Doug- las Ross, Mrs. Edward Zinke- Mrs. Michael! Nicholishen, Mrs. Katherine Cheredaryk and Mrs. Mary Anonichuk. Affectionate tributes were paid to Mr. and Mrs. Dennis by the Reverend John Jacenty, master of ceremonies, Edward Zinkewich and Ronald and Catherine Dennis. The tradi- tional Ukrainian hymn was sung by all. Ronald Dennis proposed a toast to his mother, and Catherine Dennis proposed a toast to her father. Many cards, gifts and money were received. Mrs. Mac Van Allen presented a gift on behalf of family, friends and relatives; Mrs. Michael Nicholishen pre- sented a gift from the Ukrain- ian Presbyterian Church Ladies' Aid of which Mrs. Dennis is an 'John Tkatch and Mrs. active member. Ronald and Catherine Dennis presented their parents with a_ swivel chair. Miss Catherine Dennis and Misses Janis and Patricia Tkatch attended the guest book. Replies to the toasts were made by the honored pair, also William Tkatch. Mr. Dennis' gift to his wife was a set of rings and Mrs. Dennis gave her husband a sterling cuff-link and tie set. Telegrams and best wishes were received from Mr. and Mrs, Steven Kozoriz, and Mr. and Mrs, Andrew Swenarchuk of Canora, Saskatchewan; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Ostrowercha and fam- ily of Calgary, Alberta; and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Shush- kewich of Winnipeg, Manitoba.
