16 THE OSHAWA TIMES, Wednesdoy, October 25, 1967 BACK IN HARNESS, after a hiking holiday at Expo, we find ourselves immediately' caught up in the current hock- ey gossip, which of course in- cludes Oshawa Crushmen's fine win last night right on Belleville ice, where they turned back the Bay of Quinte "Bees"' by a 7-4 score, to maintain their grip On the top rung of the OHA Junior 'B' Lakeshore League race. Osh- awa's homebrew Junior 'B' squad will be in action again on Friday in a fixture that should be a real attraction for the local puck patrons. THE TRADE WINDS which were blowing yesterday, ap- pear to have shifted and the reported switch of uniforms by Jim Adair of Hamilton Red Wings and Oshawa Gen- erals' Pete Nevin is not tak- ing place, at least not right now. Apparently when the Oshawa club officials talked with coach Eddie Bush of Hamilton, both players were willing to go along with the trade. However, Adair has since had a change of mind. A keen and high-standing stu- dent, the Hamilton Red Wing player doesn't want to change schools at this point in his education schedule, so the deal has been shelved OSHAWA GENERALS gave their rooters a win over Ot- tawa on Saturday night and while beating the boys from Bytown is not exactly a his- tory-making feat, the Gen- erals once again showed a little improvement and the fans are enjoying their enter- taining brand of hockey. This weekend finds '"'Ike" Hilde- brand and his hoys in back- to-back action with the Lift- lock City "Petes" visiting Auditorium on Saturday night and the Generals travelling to St. Catharines on Sunday, for a tilt with the Junior Black Hawks. TORONTO ARGOS have also zoomed into the lime- light during our brief absence and we find the three or four ardent double-blue rooters in the office getting around the place with heads high and a jaunty spring in their steps. That last-second tie against Ottawa has given all Argo rooters a shot-in-the-arm and there's even talk of going to Ottawa for a Grey Cup ap- pearance. However, before that date rolls around, Argos likely have two more games with the Rough Riders, one that doesn't mean much now and the other--a sudden-death playoff game, to decide which team enters the finals. If Ot- tawa finishes second, and that seems probable, Argos will have to beat Ottawa in that sudden-death game, right in Ottawa -- and that will take some doing DANNY NYKOLUK, long- term star performer with To- ronto Argos and for the past few years, a resident of this city, will set a new record for Toronto Argos when he trots out on the field at Ot- tawa this Saturday.
