Each year an award is given for the best actor and actress as well as the winning play. Several plays are being considered but none has been chosen as of yet. The Drama Club also plans several assemblies before then as re- hearsals for the play will not start until January. There will not be a major musical produc- tion this year. The Student Council has. de- cided to sell rings, sweaters and jackets again this year. The prices may be slightly high this year but don't let that dissuade you from showing some of the old school spirit. The Council has also agreed to pey half the price of the Prefect jackets. The school newspaper has not appeared yet but we are still hoping. The Telegram's Christmas Fairyland will be held again this year in the Automotive Building of the CNE, from No- vember 19 to December 24. Four Representative will be in- vited to a special party which will be held between the above dates. Sixty students from each school will be invited and four schools will attend each night. This is being presented free of charge by CHUM, After Four and the Milk Board. There will be a band supplied for each} party. The football game, held on Oct. 5 between Pickering and Courtice was won by Courtice, with a final score of 28 - 1. --GLYNNIS WALKER. Debray Changes His Plea Accepts Part Responsibility By CHRISTOPHER ROPER CAMIRI (Reuters)--A fresh aura of drama surrounded the trial of French Marxist writer Regis Debray here today after his emotional acceptance of partial responsibility for Bolivia's seven-month-long guerrilla outbreak. The 27-year-old Frenchman, openly sobbing over the death Monday of Cuban revolutionary Ernesto (Che) Guevara, made a dramatic retraction of his defence against charges of guerrilla involvement during an interview with Bolivian law stu- dents in his cell Wednesday. Debray, who faces a possible 30-year prison sentence on charges of rebellion, murder and armed robbery, told the students: "I am in mourning for the death of a continental leader." SHARES RESPONSIBILITY The bearded intellectual, who consistently declared after his arrest in April that he was in Bolivia only to interview Gue- vara for French and Mexican magazines, said he would ask the military tribunal trying him to consider his share of respon- sibility in guerrila acts. He told the students: "Yes, I am responsble. I am going to) demand from the tribunal the honor of making me responsible for the facts that are being judged." WORK FOR BILINGUALISM OTTAWA: (CP)--The public service commission of Canada is spending $5,000,000 this year on language training programs, chairman John J. Carson said Monday. Ability to speak both} French and English now is an element of merit in the selec tion of all university graduates recruited for administration and foreign officer positions in the puble service, he said. He said he did not fire a sin- gle shot, but '"'politically and morally I consider myself have charged Debray with moral responsibility for guerril- la operations because of his published book on guerrilla tac- tics,Revolution within the Rev- olution. sponsible for the occurr- anges." 8 Bolivian authorities already Cannington--xThomas Weath- erald (L) 1,079.
