JAMES ARCHIBALD CAMPBELL The death occurred suddenly, Sept. 20, at his residence, 909 Lilac Terrace, Whitby, as the result of a heart attack, of James Archibald Campbell. He was in his 55th year. Born at Newcastle, New Brunswick, the deceased was a son of the late George Robert and Anne Jane Campbell. He received his education at the Newcastle Separate and High Schools. Mr. Campbell came to Whitby from the Maritimes three years ago. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police before joining the investigation department of Canadian National Railways about 26 years ago. A member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Whitby, he was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. During the Second World War he served over- seas with the Canadian Armed Forces, He is survived by his wife, the former Dorothea McDonald, whom he married June 27, 1940, at Halifax; three daugh- ters, Mrs. C. Gaudreau (Winnis- Ann) of Hornepayne, Mrs. T. McKeever (Sharron) of Osh- awa and Miss Lorraine Camp- bell of Oshawa and three sons, James of Oshawa, Thomas and Kenneth of Whitby.
