THOMAS (CP) -- Mrs. Ledson Barker, who took wrong pills for two weeks, was awarded $706 in damages Tues- day in a civil negligence suit against pharmacist Fred C. Cox. 3 Mrs. Barker said she took digitalis pills obtained at a drug store four times a day for two weeks in January, 1966, think- ing they were thyroid pills she had been taking on prescrip- tion since December, 1964, Mr. Cox said he was on va- cation when Mrs. Barket came to refill her prescription. Mrs. Charles Broadbent, drugstore clerk, testified she gave Mrs. Barket digitalis pills because she asked for them. Digitalis can be obtained without a prescription, Mr. Cox said. SARNIA (CP) --The Ontario command of the Royal Cana- dian Legion voted unanimously at its biennial convention Tues- day to have the Canadian Na- tional Socialist Party brande? seditious and declared illegal. The resolution calls for the federal government, provinces and municipalities to declare the actions of the party "'in di- rect conflict with democratic principles," and to ban its "scurrilous and treasonable tt- teranceg and publications." _ In other resolutions during the legion's afternoon session, delegates called for the forma- tion of a non-political committee to study the effects of armed forces integration so far and also asked the federal govern- ment to maintain Canada's pre- sent "defence posture" and to refrain from action that would reduce the country's role to that of only a peacekeeper. Higher disability pensions and better treatment for veterans at Toronto's. Sunnybrook Hospital were affirmed as continuing the goals of the command.
