24 'THE OSHAWA TIMES, Monday, May 15, 1967 68 Deaths By Accident Mar Week-end In Canada By THE CANADIAN PRESS A traffic death toll of 31 in Quebec accounted for almost half the 68 accidental deaths reported across Canada during the weekend. A Canadian Press survey from 6 p.m. Friday to midnight Sunday, local times, showed a total of 61 persons killed in traffic accidents, five by drown- ing and two in other mishaps. Thirteen persons died in traf- fic mishaps in Ontario, six in Alberta, four in Newfoundland, two in each of British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Nova Scotia, and one in New Brunswick. Four drownings were reported from Nova Scotia and one from British Columbia. An Ontario} boy was killed when struck by a train and one person in Man- itoba died after an accident in- volving a tractor. Prince Edward Island re- ported no accidental deaths, The survey does not include natural or industrial deaths, known suicides or slayings.
