Its 12 theme modules are intended to present '"'the au- thentic and lifelike face of the world's youth." Youthful preoccupation with social protest and revolution, education and work, their self- doubt and boredom, even ju- venile delinquency will show up in the mirror. Laid out on the southern side of La Ronde, Expo's en- tertainment island, the pa- vilion consists basically of four parts. The modules, ar- ranged to form a semi-circle enveloping an amphitheatre, are flanked to the west by a 250-seat theatre, snack bar and cafe-dansant. Director Lebeuf is given to talking about it in abstract terms: "'It illustrates the pres- ent-day world, as young peo- ple see it, together with the effects of this 197 world upon youth, how youth reacts to the world as he sees it, and what he wants to do with it." Inside No. 2 module, or cell, for example, the space age will be featured, with huge photo-murals tacked to walls and ceilings. "The left-hand wall shows a giant blow-up of a smiling young face, the right - hand photo is of bomb-devastated ground at Hiroshima." Above is a large sign with Youth Pavilion At Expo 'Mirror Of Many Facets the Einstein formula for atomic energy. DISPLAY BANNERS Cell No. 8 depicts "pro- test," with photographs boxes. Also found in the boxes cial protest--badges, barifiérs, placards, rocks and the like. "Doubt" is shown in No. 12. "Half way back, the floor of this cell rises abruptly to the ceiling and is treated in an op art design of black and white squares and rectangles. Above the floor the viewer will see square light boxes with photos on them." About 10 days of the six- month world's fair will be ded- icated to youth, beginning with Youth and Culture Day May 21. Youth Day will be Aug. 6, youth and poetry will be featured Sept. 9, youth and sport Oct. 25, and youth and science at a date to be set. Young Canadian folksingers have been invited to send au- dition tapes with a view to participating in the pavilion's folk festival. printed on transparent plastic | will be various objects of so- | Buying or Selling!
