The NDP member for Skeena took his seat just before the start of the sitting. A former RCMP sergeant, Jack Bigg, Conservative member for Atha- baska, came over and shook hands. Later, Mr. Howard walked across the floor, shook hands with Privy Council President Walter Gordon, then sat next to Registrar-General John Turner for a chat.
