It is the story of men of vision and fore- sight who, overcoming many obstacles and problems, suc- ceeded in giving to the Town of Whitby modern water and light systems, two of the greatest assets any municipality can have. In this centennial year it is fitting that we recall the progress that has been made in a period of 63 years, as the provision of these utilities has kept pace with the growth of the town, and to take pride in | th the fact that the Commission today is leaving no stone un- turned to take care of that growth which has been greatly accelerated in recent years.
