Westmount beat Southminster 2-1 as Doug Rae and Paul Os- borne scored for winners while David Sheridan scored for Southminster. First Baptist and St. Andrew battled to a 2-2 tie on the stren- gth of two goals by Allen War- ren for St. Andrews while Mar- tin Sherrard and Larry Wilson scored for First Baptist. St. Paul's downed Simcoe St. 4-2 on goals by Robert Suther- Dan Snow scored three goals to lead Albert St. to an 8-0 shut- out over Northminster in Pro- testant Church League, Novice play on the weekend. Other scorers were Bill Gal- braith with two goals, and David Salway, Ken Lawton and Larry Wetherup with one each. The shutout went to Paul Wiltshire. Rookie goalkeeper Gary Ken- nedy was the hero of the first game, as he earned his first shutout of the season, with a fine puck-stopping performance. DAVIS OPENS SCORING Both teams gave it everything they had with Terry Davis scor- ing the only goal of the first period at 16:10, on assists from Al McDonald and _ George Younge. Royals failed to click with their power-play, while Ernie Stoneman sat out a charg- ing penalty, goalie Kennedy foiling Bill Lundmark, Pete Bedard and Melvin Brown, all at point-blank range. Second games in these 2-out- of-3 semi-final rounds will be played Sunday, Ottenbrite's and Duff's going at 11:45 a.m. and Royal Hotel meeting the Fuel-| and then Tran fired the third weekend.
